Sweet Sugary Sugarbun!

In summers, me and Sugarbun used to go for a walk after dropping Chinipie for her swim lessons. We, usually turned those walks into fun nature hunts. on one such walk, we had spotted a dotty ladybug, an incy-wincy spider, a stripy bee, a baby bird, a rolly-polly bug and a wiggly worm. Each time, Sugarbun wud say , " Can I name her lizzie?"
On her asking this agin for the sixth time, Unlike each time, instead of saying "sure",  I asked her, " how will u know which lizzie is which? U hv named all of them the same? Won't you get confused?"
Without even blinking her eye, sugar said, "that's a rolly poll lizzie and that's a worm lizzie. They r not even the same! silly mumma!!"

*******
You might remember the hatching-egg incident. Similar to that, Other morning, watching me flip over an omellete, sugarbun had observed, "are you making an egg-roti for breakfast today?"

Another time, Watching me clean the toilet bowl, "Why are you making the water blue?" (The cleaning liquid being blue n color)

*******
There was a certain phase, when Sugarbun had ended up with multiple time-outs each day; many days in a row. Now, for time-outs, I use a bench kept near our front door, which is otherwise used to sit down and tie-up the shoes. That particular morning, as the dad was tying his shoes, sitting on that very bench, he started texting/e-mailing on his blackberry.
Oblivious of the fact, seeing him sitting there quietly, a wide-eyed Sugarbun came to me in the kitchen, "Why did you give Papa a time-out? What wrong did HE do?"

*******
Clearly forgetting, that my lovely Sugar is not a sweet little baby anymore, strapped and dozing  in her stroller, I recently went with her to a lingerie store.
Waving a thong at me, she said, "this is baby's size.(she calls herself a baby.) let's find size 3T for me!"
Overcoming the shock, I told her that we are not looking anything for her but for momma. Excited, she said, "I will help you!" Now, both my girls, love picking out dresses/shoes/outfits for me to try, which they think would look good on me. Sugarbun, usually picks only blue (her favorite color). So I thought it wouldn't harm but actually would keep her busy.
But just after sometime, shaking her head, and pulling me by my hand, she said, " let's go to a different store and get you some PROPER clothes!"

Monday morning blues

Found this in unpublished archives from last year. Must have been written in fall sometime during the beginning of the school year. Don't remember what had happened that monday morning but the night before was totally cute. Read on. Totally an awww moment, isn't it?

Monday morning blues
They start on Sunday evening in our home with the kids being overtired by seven o'clock and momma, frantically, trying to put the dinner together on table lest the kids go to bed hungry. With two howling kids on her side, a simple task of setting up the dinner plate becomes daunting. The dad takes over feeding the dinner part after which they are serenely quiet. Changed to their night dresses and tucked in their beds, they look like they would start their zzzs as soon as she turns off the light. And content that she can now fill her own hungry belly with some food, she comes downstairs kissing both the girls good night. One-half chapati later, mom-dad hear some voices from upstairs. "that cannot be! They were so tired!" Convinced that their ears must be ringing, they turn back to munching their dinner. Mom's instinct tells her that she cannot be wrong, she decides to go check on them, only to find them having a nice conversation making up some silly jokes of their own. For a while, she stands outside their bedroom door, soaking herself in that cute moment before she gets in and asks them what's going on. Because, her tone was light, and their spirits high, they reply with a laughter and few minutes and another session of tucking, kissing goodnights and patting them to sleep later, momma tiptoes out of the room.

The Repartees

Seeing sugar pop something in her mouth from the floor, momma frantically runs to her, "open ur mouth! Show me. Show me. What's in ur mouth?"
Very calmly, she looked into momma's eyes, and answered, teeth!

As momma steps out of the bathroom, ready to go out, sugar gives her a bright smile,
I love ur oatfit momma! It's so pretty

During the well-check, the doctor asked, what languages fo we primarily speak at home. "Hindi", I said.
And English, chini adds. you speak Hindi while I speak English.
Not to be left behind, sugar adds, and Spanish! I say para!!

In an argument with sugar I say, it is a horse!
No! It's a pony, she says.
No ponies are small. This is a horse.
I know!! it's a unicorn!

Watching me flip over an omellete, sugar exclaims,
Wow! You are making a egg-roti!

It was story time and Momma was narrating one of her own, with lots of actions. At one time, momma pretended to pull something out of an imaginary bag, and placing her hand flat in front of the kids, asked," what do you think is in the hand?"
MAENDI!!!(mehandi) sugar answered!!

Oh, sugar accidentally bumped her head into momma, resulting in a big cut on momma's lips. This happened two days back. Since then, much to momma's amusement, sugar is insisting,
I will kiss on ur boo-boo and make it awll better!!

Welcoming Santa

It has been unusually warm winter so far. We did have a snowy day, around halloween, when we were so not ready for it and a few cold autumn days afterwards, but it has been very pleasant ever since. We wouldn't have realized it's the month of December if the sunset didn't happen at 4:00 p.m. each day! Any chnces of having a hite chistamas this year? Probably something to worry about, but that we will do later. For now, we are enjoying. Most days, when it's not raining, we even manage to sneak out for a super-short evening walk!

The neighbourhood is lively with the holiday lights and decorations. Everybody has a green wreath hanging on their front door. We can see well-decorated christmas trees through some windows.
"when are we going to decorate our christmas tree?" chini asks. " are we going to celebrate chrismas with our friends like we did when I was three and sugar was 1?" (last xmas, we had a get-together with our friends where one of the dads had dressed up as santa and given gifts to all the kids. Gifts were, of course, brought by parents.)
i want to go see baby jesus being born
and various such inquisitiveness. We are still not ready for a tree, so momma got the ornaments to decorate the tree outside. Now, we r waiting for the sun to shine back (it has been raining non-stop for past 3 days now) so tt we can go out and hang those pretty things. Meanwhile, the xmas bells are on the door, santa and snowman clingies on the windows, large wreath bows in the mantel and the stockings are hanging already on the fireplace.
Why does Santa come through chimney, papa?
wHy don't we have stockings for you and momma? I want santa to get you both dome gifts too. You have behaved good this year.
Meanwhile, all thoughts are being invested in wht gifts to be asked from Santa. Check out what's on the top of her list!

Dear Santa
I have not been very good this year. But i have kept my promises. I told momma I will not bite my nails at school and I stopped! I promise that I will be a good girl. Please get me a bottle of pink sparkly nail polish.
Love, chini

And already, a box of goldfish has been left at the fireplace for Santa. Sugar meanwhile has been practicing her carols, " up on the rooftop" "away in the manger" "jingle bells" "rudolf-the red nosed reindeer" are all sung at her full vocal chords. Sometime, she gets a little out of track and starts " do re mi fa so la ti" which goes like this-
Doe a deer, female dear
Ray a floss of golden sun
Me a name Call myself
Fa momma go to run!
?!?

Shark Teeth

Do you know how many teeth do the sharks have? This might be a fun read.

And how many teeth does my chinipie has?
one hundred!
That's what she very proudly told the dentist during her recent check-up. The dentist then counted out loud with her and much to chini's disappointment, ended up at 20.
I want to have 100 teeth!
Yes, unless you want to be a shark, said the dentist. You aren't one, are you?
Yes, I am
(now somebody plz explain momma why is this one hundred such a magical number?)

So we had been to the dentist. And momma is actually not making a huge ruckus about it as it is actually the 2nd visit. The first ever visit was in March, for which chini was pretty excited as the then-next-door paediatric dentist had just made a visit to her school. And, it was a huge deal then! Chini had surprised them with her knowledge of floss and mouthwash! In return, they even had done a complimentary dental check for sugar! (Nah! Just kidding, they had told at very beginning that they would.)

This time Chini was a little skeptical, partly due to her dad's recent visits and partly, coz some of her friends at school have either lost their first baby tooth or have a wiggy one. Though, her hesitation came as a surprise to me as just a few days back, she had complained how unfair it is that her friends are already losing their baby teeth while she is still stuck with them! And then she had gone ahead and drafted a letter to the tooth fairy (already!) which went something like this:

Dear Tooth fairy,

give me and my baby sister a yummy thing to eat.
Also, add one for momma and one for papa.
Love,
Chini

(Yes! All her prayers have to include all of us. Isn't that so sweet?)

The shark teeth acted as an ice-breaker and the rest went quite well. The high point was when the dentist cranked chini's chair up and down. She smiled wide every time that happened and said I am enjoying the ride, momma!

Sugar doesn't let any stranger cross her safe space. So, while she was constantly chirping all through her sister's sitting, she turned into a wiggly worm when it was her turn. As a result I had to take her in my lap. And then, it was all three of us on that dentist chair ride!
For next few days, sugar would show her teeth to me and say,
"look at my teeth. They are pink!"

A couple of months ago,in some context, I asked chinipie - which book had lobsters shaking hands with us humans?
I remember that book, She had said. Not only did she remember the name of the book but had then gone on to describe, so, perfectly, each and every page of the book. Given the fact that we had read that book in the very beginning of summers! Don't kids have such amazing memories? You know what the book was?
Never take a shark to a denist. ;)

... They got ur genes, when you catch them reading books in the dim night light!

... U r extremely lucky, when seeing you dressed up, your little darlings shower you with praises like "i love your hair", " i really like your dress" "ur ear rings are beautiful", "u look pretty"!

Celebrating A Birthday

Becomes merrier with both of my oh so pinkalicious daughters!

It all started a week before when I told them that dad's birthday is coming up.
Where shll we have his birthday party?
What will we gift him?
Quick, we have to think and do so much!

And no, this wasn't me, but chinipie thinking out aloud. When I told her that we will celebrate together, as a family, at home, just as papa would love it, she didn' like the idea. Home is boring, she said. Home is boring, sugarbun echoed.

Her moods lifted when we shopped for all the necessary supplies: cake, pumpkin bread, dahi vada, chole-bhature was the menu. I told her that this is to Be a surprise for him, so we have to keep a hush-hush about it. And she did! As soon as dad came back that evening,
"Papa, we are planning a surprise for your birthday but I won't tell you because it is a surprise. "
It's a prize for ur birthday, papa, sugar Dutifully joined in the excitement.
And this took me tWo years back, when on dad's birthday chini had excitedly gone to the just-entered-in-the-home dad and had chirped, Surprise! It's a birthday cake!

An evening before, the dad had his wisdom tooth removed and declared that he would be working from home the next day. A frantic mom very rudely told him to leave for work the first thing in the morning, for it disrupts the kids' routine?!? To which, he meekly replied tht he had to go for two hours for a meeting anyways. Trying to patch up, (though hoping he doesn't give in) I suggested that he could do a telecon, which (thankfully) he couldn't. For a while I thought that he was just playing his part in the whole surprise act, to which he later clarified that he indeed had a very genuine meeting.

Anyways, as soon as the dad left the house, out came all the ingredients for the cake and girls had the whisks ready as we cracked, read hatched, the eggs. While chinipie very Honestly helped me, sugar had fun dipping her hands in the batter and licking it off. Temptation caught on and soon both my girls were anointed from head to toe.
Ummmm yummy, sugar exclaimed every time she put those tiny sticky mix-coated fingers in her mouth.
The pumpkin batter turned out to be a little spicy for them and their little tummies were full too, so this time we sticked to just hatching the eggs together. The cake was done and as I had to hide the cake when the dad arrived, Chinipie rushed to delay him at the door.
"You don't smell the cake, do you?" :-)
To my rescue, the pumpkin bread was still in the oven and worked as a cover. Sneaking again, chini and momma finished decorating the cake. Chini added the sprinkles as momma caligraphed on it.

In the morning, as soon as she opened her eyes, chini rushed to wish her dad a very happy birthday, and my manager added
I have to go downstairs and check if momma is finished decorating the house. You come with sugar a little later, okay?
Not only was the decoration approved but gained a very high remarks! The cake was cut and my head chef, sugar, taking a bite affirmed,
Ummmmmm, it tastes like cake!

Two birthdays in the family being over and done with, no points in guessing whose is coming next.
"I will celebrate my birthday in disney world. And will invite all my friends there." A few days later, she added,
"Me and sugar both will have our birthday celebations at disneyworld with all the princesses.... For one hundred and twenty five days. You and papa are invited, too."

Need Invitations, anyone?

Edited to add: The post is published ten days later than it was originally intended to.. And I forgot to add that poor dad couldn't relish his own birthday cake as his mouth was still sore.

Also, chini's current favourite number is 125 .. A progress after my birthday

In pursuit of friends- a birthday party

We are just returning from our first ever birthday party in Philly. The kids were super excited since yesterday as it has been a while that we have been to one.. The last one being their very own which was an evening before everything had to go in the moving truck. It was just a last minute thing as the galz wanted to celebrate it with their frens, specifically chinipie. Coming back to tonight's party, sugar had skipped her afternoon nap, inspire of all our efforts. undoubtedly, she was super cranky by the time we started to get ready. Then chini got herself hurt on her toe..so it was a challenge with one following the suit of other in crying.

The party was good, the hosts were a sweet couple and the birthday girl who turned one last week was a very happy child... Touchwood! As for my kids, chini engaged sugar in a balloon game as soon as we reached there n after the cake was cut sugar fell asleep in dad's lap. Chinipie missed playing with her little sis for a while but then got busy with a coloring game on my phone(thank goodness for the smartphones). She finished the cake by herself and was rather proud of it!!

Highlights of the day - when I was trying to push lunch inside her, i tried to bribe her saying if you finish it, we will go somewhere in the evening. Pat came here reply, "I know. We are going to a baby's birthday party. She is turning one!"

Sugar will you sing a birthday song for the baby. " um ummm.." meaning a big NO... Don't even expect such things from me!!

Had forgotten to add another pinkalicious episode of the evening... Even though chinipie had calmed down after hurting her toe, the poor girl was still in pain... And started jumping up and down crying "aaauuiii aaauuuiii aaauuuiii" . Sugar looked at her sister and thinking this as a new fun game, joined her... Jumping up and down and laughing... " aaauuuuiii aaauuuiii aaauuuuiii". Soon we all joined in amidst roar of laughter! Isn't it amazing how easily the can turn pain to laughter!

Of Fairy Tales and Cindrellas..

After the daily humdrum of the mornings.. the kids morning chores done with, their breakfast over... I asked them to play or do whatever they want to in their play area, while I took a moment to myself while having my breakfast (and reading a book) at the dining table just across a viewshot from them. Chinipie wanted to color but wanted me to look up a different coloring book for her which, I said, I could help her with only after my breakfast.. till then she will have to use her current one. All said and done, and she returned to her coloring with a satisfied look, when sugarbun decided that she wanted to do her coloring sitting next to me and implanted herself on the chair next to mine. She kept showing me her coloring (scribbling, according to Chini) and I kept either grunting or adding a few words of appreciation while continuing with my reading/munching. That's when Chini came to me and said, "You know what mommy, you and sugar treat me like Cindrella's stepmothers and stepsisters!" I just dropped everything and looked at her.. the mommy heart in me almost broke on hearing those words. I asked, "why do you say so?" and she could see the mixture of hurt and amazed look on my face and started blushing as she thought she said something wrong. I asked her if she felt so coz she is not sitting next to me and she wasn't sure. I gave her one big hug and asked her,
"Do I make u scrub floor like Cindrella's stepmother?" " Do I make you cook food for all of us?" "Do I dress you up in rags?"
"What's rags mommy?"
"Torn Clothes"
"No. You buy me and sugar new dresses every time we go to target and mall"
"Then why do you say so?"
"But you make me clean my room and the play room!"
"Honey, that's the mess you make.. and besides you need to take care of your toys and books. Do I make you clean up the mess that I make?"
"No"
"Then why do you say such hurting words to me?"
"I am sorry mumma" and she rushes to give me a hug this time!

When I told dad about this, he just couldn't help laughing. He says there's nothing hurting over here.. it's just a child's innocence.. I wish I could see it that way. Since morning, I have been thinking which action of mine touched the sensitive heart of my little big girl?!?

to which I have not gotten any answers yet... I hadn't even screamed at her.. everything was at a very normal tone at a very normal pace as it could be.. Did her little mind not like the idea of me trying to get a little time for myself? or Does she gets touched every time sugar gets away with her pranks/gets some favors coz shez still the little one? hmmmm.. very perplexing but surely the child's mind acts in a strange way...........

Did I tell you about her 'Rapunzel' incident which happened a few months back? It was the Valentine's day and we had a little get together at our place. We (our friends and us) used to find reasons just to be together and enjoy some time. So, we had planned an evening filled with games, fun and good food at our place. The kids games were done with and they were playing in the basement while we were having the couples games in the first floor family room. Suddenly, I heard Chini crying (she actually howls out very loud), by the time I reached the door leading to the basement, the dad and the crying Chini were coming upstairs. The dad had the kitchen scissors in his hand and said she has cut all her hair!!! Apparently, she had found the kitchen scissors lying in the basement, and had started cutting her hair. My immediate concern was if she hadn't cut herself anywhere else (neck/ears) in the process. Thankfully, she hadn't.. I took her to another room and tried to calm her down. After she was a little calmer, I asked,
"why did you do that, honey?"
"I was trying to be Rapunzel." followed by another spurt of wailing....
"But honey, Rapunzel is not real."
"She is. We saw her in the movie theater in the 'tangled' movie"
"Honey, she is just an imagination of somebody else.. like in your imagination you can have a blue or a purple banana.. somebody else imagined her and made a movie/book out of it"
"oh! (with another burst of bawling) But I only wanted to be Rapunzel!!!!!"

All in a day!

This morning we made breakfast together.. me and chinipie.. She was waiting for me to play with her and I had lots of work around the house.. I was trying to think hard what could be done before her patience ran out. So, i just asked her if she would like to help me making something special for papa (he was working from home) and her baby sister. She grew excited and immediately, got her foot-stool so that she cud help her momma out in the kitchen. We decided to make egg-rolls and she did her part of pouring the egg batter and pressing the roti's on the omellete with the spatula.. When two of them were ready to be served, she got some ketchup from the refrigerator and poured it on the plate trying to make a smiley face on it (just like mommy does for her) and handed it over to her dad in his home-office. Came back and, together,we continued making some more for herself, her baby sister and her mom. Poor thing didn't budge from her spot thoughthe heat from the girdle and the stove was getting too much for her to bear..

When we were done, I cut the rolls in half and wrapped them in li'l napkins n foil sheets so that the kids could easily hold 'n eat them, explaining to her what they were for. Then, I gave her the plate and we decided to have our breakfast in the balcony.. that's where me and the girls pretend to have our picnic when the weather is good. Meanwhile, I gathered the other stuff like juice, water, napkins, etc. I had expected her to have settled on the little picnic bench, waiting for me. But to my surprise, she was nowhere in sight, neither was the plate full of egg rolls. Instead, sugarbun was hiding her face in the lounge chair wailing her lungs out.. apparently terrified by a bumble bee(actually a wasp!) with her clothes wet from top to bottom. Poor thing was still in a state of shock to answer how she got wet! Assuming, that the chair must have been wet from last night's rain.. I took her inside, calmed her down and changed her. We(sugar and I) came back out in the balcony, with me promising her again and again that I will shoo the bee away next time it comes near her... and chini was still nowhere in sight.  I gave juice to sugar, still trying to think hard where her elder sis cud have possible vanished, when she came back chirping happily with the plate still in her hand. She sat down and served one of the rolls to sugar and started eating her own. With every bite, she would say, "They are good, momma!". That's when I realized that one of the rolls were missing from the plate. And being a mom, my heart lit up with a hope that she might have already devoured one of those.. and i asked her with a glee.. "honey, where is one of the rolls?" Prompt came the reply, "Actually, I gave it to papa and even, told him to take that wrapper off.. he is not supposed to eat it!" I just went speechless.. I have no words for what I felt then, and what I am feeling now.. We were, after all, making the breakfast for pa and sis, right? She made sure she served them, before she sat down to eat herself!!

Sugar added,"Thankyou didi, for making breakfast for me! It's yummy"

What a bliss to have daughters!!

*********************

Lemme talk about some very pinkalicious stuff my sugar does!

Sugar is a big jumperoo.. she just loves to jump all day - on the floor, on the stairs, on the couch, on the bed, in her crib. With every jump, she adds, "Mamma, I am a big Jumper!" and wouldn't stop saying it until I say, "Yes! you are!". Then she goes, " I aaarrrr.. I aaammm!"

She just loves being tickled. She would come and lie down and just say, "Tickawwoo me!" and even before my fingers actually touch her, she starts giggling. And then, it would be her turn and with her tiny little fingers, she wud just touch me and say , "Tickawoo, tickawoo. I am a tickawoo bug!" The cuteness in itself  makes me giggle...

Couple of months ago, we had a family portrait session. Apart from the fact, that the pictures had come out well, it was fun.. all of us had enjoyed it a lot and the gals, in particular, were pretty excited throughout. For one of the pose, they were asked to put both their hands on their hips and stand. Sugar liked it so much, that many a times you can catch her standing or walking in that pose!

Sugar is one little royalty who just loves to wear dresses - morning, noon and night. She then holds it in a ballerina style and says, " Look mumma, I am a pretty pwreencess!"

And indeed she is Momma's little pwrincess!

Chinipie's growing years - a snapshot

Let me try to justify my blog by trying to capture as much as I can from my girls' growing years. By and by, as i remember, I will keep adding more. Here, I will like to call on all my friends and family who used to get regular updates from me.. either in person or on the phone or live action, do remind me about the episodes/incidents you recollect. Let's travel back to the memory lanes together..

Since chinipie was the reason to start the blog, lemme start with her and will do the next post on my sugarbun.

My absolutely delightful, lovable and charming Chinipie has grown to be a very sensitive, intelligent and too-mature-to-be a 4-yr old! As I said earlier, she loves everything pink, takes a delight in all that a little girl should and is very proud to be a four year old! She is an amazing elder sister, a very lovely daughter and a great friend to all those who are around her.

Let's go back to from where I left.... my Chinipie had turned 1 in April'08. For records, she had taken her first independent step (i.e. w/o support) on April 17th .. time- around 5 p.m.. distance covered- from the center table to the couch.. number of steps- 2 to the arms of - waiting Momma; who of course made such a hulla-baloo about it. But then she never attempted it again until there was the an entire audience to cheer her up in the lobby of the apartment building we used to live in. This was about 7-10 days after her first birthday. By the end of May, she was such a cutesy toddler! Together, me and her, used to explore the nature.. jump into the water puddles, look at the crawling earthworms, the busy ants, the spinning spiders, the humming bees, the pretty flowers complete with the chirping birds! She used to love to look at the cars, air-planes, bikes! I remember, how she used to love to climb up and down on the steps outside of  our apartment lobby. I used to take a thrill in the silhouette of a mom walking with a happy, chirpy toddler holding her finger(this feeling is still alive though with my sugarbun)..

And yes, books used to be her all time favourite.. the first time she scribbled something, she was just 11 months old (I guess I must have saved this one.. will have to dig it out!). She wasn't speaking much then, but could explain everything to me - with her actions and a few words that she could.  The sequence of her initial word power was something like this..
ka - for car and for what
key - for key, of course
cow - for the animal cow, of course!
tie - for the dad's tie

then she had moved on to
Baaaney.. for barney, her then fav
Paaani.. for water
Naaani.. for granma
Gaaani... for granny.. there was this 74-yr ol' lady on our floor, who my chinipie used to adore a lot and spent lots of time with..

And then, she had picked on frm there.. The first multi-syllable work she had spoken was
naap -kin for napkin.... for a long time she used to pronounce a as 'aa' like an apple was always an 'aappu' for she couldn't say the 'l' and the 'u' sound if it came at the end... diaper was a 'daapu' coz again she couldn't do the 'r' and the 'u' sound...

Now that we are on to her Language building skills, there a few episodes that I remember..
At around 15 months of age, I used to ask her what does papa wear to office and she used to point to her neck and say 'tie'!
At around 18 months... during the apple picking season, she had amazed all her co-riders (dad's frens) in the car by saying 'tee' pointing to a tree!
At around 22 months, she explained to the librarian that her dad is at work.. 'Papa aapis. cum baak ening'!
In the same library event, I had made a teeny-tiny black and white soccer ball out of play-dough and she had sent the entire room to an uproarious laughter by showing to each and everybody that she had a 'soccu baoo' and then trying to kick it, in the event smashing it with her feet!
At around the same time, she had amazed my friends, by telling them that the flying object in the sky is not an air-plane but a glider!!

And before we knew, she had begun to speak short sentences a few days before she turned two!

... more to be continued.. lemme just bask in these memories.. can't tell you how I am feeling at the moment... as if the entire events are unrolling live in front of my eyes.... and my eyes - they added their own dewiness to these fond images...

PINKALICIOUS!!

For those who are wondering what my title means.. and those who have half guessed correctly but still have a few doubts.. am a proud mommy of two very lovely, yummy, entirely delectable, who love everything about dresses, accessories, make-ups, shoes, jewelry; in short very PINKALICOUS girls! And most definitely, they are crazy about pink!!! In addition to it, they recently became proud owner of this very lovely book called 'Pinkalicous' and no doubts, this is their current favourite!

It so happened, we have moved to this new city, where we don't know a single soul and are trying to keep ourselves busy with whatsoever poor momma can think of, instead of just sitting at home and letting them eat my brains out! Thankfully, we moved in peak of summers, when there were lots of activities going on in the local libraries. Once there was BINGO for all ages at our library, which, by chance we won not only once but twice(it's so hard to believe still as my lucky stars elude my when it comes to such games.. guess my girls' stars were acting high that day!). It being an library event, the prize was obviously a book for each win and you get to choose the book. And when we went to make a pick.. no guesses on what my chinipie chose!?! Momma wasn't very sure if it would be a good book and asked her if she would want to take a second look and with a firm voice she said 'NO'!! And, in front of an entire audience momma, but of course, relented (with the comment from the librarian,"she definitely knows what she wants!!"). After that, she had no interest in the game or in winning at all. All she wanted was to look at the book and couldn't wait to be back home to be read to!!

Later that night, when all three of us (Chinipie, Sugarbun and momma) kept falling in love with that book with each turn of the page!! It's such a lovely read with an equally lovely message.. So, my dear friends.. that's my life for you from now onwards.. a very PINKTASTIC life with a PINKERALLA and a PINKERBELL to make it PINKERRIFIC with each passing day!

and you were wondering why I changed my blog to all pink, huh?!?
